Born and living on a large sheep station in far Western NSW, Katrina is Country, heart and soul. Her early education on the School of the Air trained her for the microphone early in life.
Although a relative newcomer to professional performing, Katrina has 'been around' for six years. She has been steadily working throughout Western NSW, Vic and SA, impressing audiences with her easy listening style.
Katrina performs a range of music, covering her grass roots:- Bush ballads, traditional country and the more modern contemporary style, with the odd old time rock'n'roll thrown in.
Her debut album Patches was released during the 1998 Mildura Festival, and is receiving considerable airplay throughout Australia, New Zealand and Belgium. The contemporary Brent Parlane penned 'Face to Face' has just been released in Australia and her own composition, the ballad 'Sometimes', is soon to be released in America.
In June 1999, Katrina was one of the few artists representing Australia in New Zealand for the Gore Country Music Festival. Also that year, Katrina's track 'Sometimes' was released in Europe by Charlie Ray Productions, and on the GSL compilation CD 'Australian Singer Songwriter Series No 1'. This brought her considerable airplay around the world.
With her vibrant nature and cheeky smile reflecting in her performances, Katrina Hannigan endears herself to her audiences covering all ages and from all walks of life.
